Inclusive Club: “Train 3,000 Para-hospitable Clubs

Within the framework of the Para Athletics World Championships – PARIS’23, the Organizing Committee has set up a legacy program in order to participate in the development of the practice of athletics for all. Through this development, the committee and the French Handisport Federation wish to develop the practice of para-athletics (number of practitioners, licensees, clubs hosting people with disabilities …).

In this context, the Organizing Committee of the Para Athletics World Championships, through the French Handisport Federation, is associated with the “Para-hosting Clubs” training program. This project, orchestrated by the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF), in partnership with the FFH and the FFSA, aims to improve the knowledge of sports clubs of all disciplines throughout France in order to facilitate the quality of the welcome and to reinforce the sports offer adapted for people with disabilities.

The program, which has the active support of the government, will help “raise awareness of the need to welcome people with disabilities into ordinary, non-specialized clubs“. All this while meeting several objectives:

  • To remove the obstacles linked to the prejudices related to the reception and management of a public with disabilities.
  • Reassure participants of the club’s capacity to accommodate them.
  • Create a network of inclusive clubs.
  • Accelerate the structuring and enrich the offer of sports practices.
